Building collaborative staff networks to share best practice, find solutions to common problems and offer continued professional development by:
- Developing cross-school networking opportunities for staff to learn with and from each other
- Identifying future education leaders and collectively providing opportunities to develop their career and skills
- Working together to address skills and knowledge gaps within governing bodies.
Current BEP projects to inspire staff:
A month-long programme of CPD events takes place in June and is open to all Bristol teachers, with sessions from local, national and international speakers.
CPD Coordinators’ Network
A CPD Coordinator’s Network enables CPD coordinators from across the partnership to meet and share experiences and good practice. The aim is for each partner school in rotation to host a visit to showcase an aspect of their work. The first of these took place at Cotham School providing an opportunity for CPD coordinators to see and hear about Cotham’s low stakes approach to the quality assurance of teaching and learning. These visits will resume after the pandemic.
BEP Middle Leaders Programme
In association with University of Bristol School of Education this programme has been developed to equip current and aspiring middle leaders with the skills and competences to be effective in their role. The programme consists of three elements:
- Skills development
- Action research
- School to school collaboration
