More than 2,000 vacancies on offer at Cabot Circus job fair

More than 2,000 vacancies will be on offer from 60 employers at a job fair at Cabot Circus this Thursday (28 June).

The event is hosted in partnership between Bristol City Council, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the National Careers Service and N-Gaged Training & Recruitment.

Recruiters from 60 companies will be on hand to discuss career opportunities, with a range of full and part-time vacancies available. Some employers will also be offering apprenticeships, open to all ages, and there will be opportunities to talk to organisations about training courses and support. Advisors will be on hand to help and support visitors during the day.

Companies attending include Computershare, Dunelm, Great Western Railway, Greggs, Keir Construction, McDonald’s, Metro Bank, Openreach, Pertemps, Premier Inn, Sodexo, TK Maxx, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Wilko.

Councillor Anna Keen, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education and Skills, said:

“This event brings together a range of experts who can make a real difference to support people’s efforts to get work. I’d encourage job-seekers to take full advantage of the opportunity to speak to employers face to face and ask questions in person. Bristol’s ethos as a Learning City is to work together to promote learning and skills, and this is another example of that partnership work in action.”

Adrian Carr, Employer Account Manager from the Department for Work and Pensions, said:

“We work closely with the council and others to bring together employers with vacancies to fill and people who want a job. Our events offer job-hunters a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk to a wide range of employers at one time and in one place.”

This is the second year that the team at Cabot Circus have hosted this community event for the residents of Bristol. The fair takes place in the central plaza of Cabot Circus, Bristol, BS1 3BX on Thursday 28 June from 11am to 3pm.
