Bristol Men in Early Years (BMIEY) quarterly network meetings are open to all men and women working with children aged from birth to seven.

At the meeting on 17 April, BMIEY are pleased to welcome Ben Tawil for a workshop on ‘Play, the importance of the seemingly frivolous’.

Ben Tawil’s job history includes being a senior lecturer in play and playwork at Leeds Beckett and in childhood studies at Glyndwr University, management positions in two adventure playgrounds, and national play development officer for Play.

Ben also runs Ludicology, a not for profit organisation focusing on play and playfulness to develop evidence based play centered policies and practices.

Ben will be joining the meeting for a workshop on:

  • Risk in play
  • Physical activity and play
  • Play in schools
  • Play sufficiency
  • Play auditing and the private and public realm.
